The Administrator

This is Brittany Nielsen.

She will be the brains behind this whole shin dig. I love her lots. I will miss our adventures together but I am glad she has control over what the world hears about my Brazilian life here on my blog. (and by world I mean my grandma, and perhaps Nicole Hill [hey guys!!])

Side note...

I already miss this girl a lot. I hope by putting her face on this blog she will remember to keep in touch with me. write me, anna baer.

That goes for: Makelle Alldredge (I want to hear about gym boys), Mackenzie Biringer (tell me about Utah and how we will "run into" each other at the Provo Temple, I kid...), Nicole Hill (wedding info pleeaassse), Chrissi Call (tell me bout the cold life), Jordan Burrows, (nanny diaries please and thank you), Kim Sieber (africa!), Ash Holt (your life is a perpetual dream)......... Ok and the list goes on and on but I need to pack...

To all those I forgot- Love you!

Just Day(s) Before

I leave on Wednesday and all of a sudden that seems very soon. I am so excited to go. I have so many people who love and support me and I could not be more grateful! Thank you to everyone who does so much for me!

Especially these people (photo taken moments after being set apart, and no we cannot open our eyes at the same time)

Please write to me everyone! I only want to hear all about your life. So when you find yourself wanting to talk about yourself, just put it on paper and mail it to this address:

Sao Paulo Interlagos, Brazil Mission!

Well dear bloggy-blog. I figured this is as good a time as any to make a real post. I am going to Sao (with a little accent thing above the o but that's not happening any time soon) Paulo Brazil!

...

OH MY GOODNESS!

It hasn't really hit me yet. The experience is still very out-of-body as if i'm talking about some girl I know only THAT girl is ME. Brazil? BRAZIL? I thought for sure I was staying in the red, white and blue speaking la english but alas my Heavenly Father had a vastly different plan for me. But what's new right?

I thought this mission thing would be hard of course, I mean that's the whole point right? I get it. But speaking Portuguese?! No my friend, that is a horse of an entirely different color. I mean i'm a strong girl, I thought "sure it will be hard but I can do it", now i'm not so sure (as if I have a choice).

So there you have it; I am just beyond grateful for amazing friends, roommates and family members who support me and went well out of their way to make this moment special for me. It was oh so special!

So i'll let this sink in.... gee whiz! Brazil? (ya I keep saying that) Someone needs to pinch me.

I Blog Therefore I am

I am new to the blogging world which is why nothing is very exciting or pretty or near any kind of perfect. Over the last little while I have found so much pertinent information from sister missionary blogs. It is an addiction, I need information. I figured I should also start a blog... kinda premature but once an idea takes place in my mind the earnest part of me can't stop thinking about it.

So here it is, my adventure into LDS mission-hood. I am excited beyond imagination. I turn my papers in officially on Sunday and I could not be any happier.
